Questions dog walkers often have
What VAT rate applies to dog-walking?
For dog-walking services the standard rate of 21% VAT applies. There's no exemption or reduced rate for this service. The invoice shows the amount excluding and including VAT with the breakdown — FactuurSturen calculates that automatically.
Invoice upfront or after?
Both work. Upfront (e.g. first of the month for that month) is common with regular monthly clients — gives clarity. After (based on actual number of walks) fits flexible clients better. In FactuurSturen you can choose per client what fits.
How do I invoice a punch card?
One invoice at purchase: "10-walk punch card, valid until [date]". Amount, VAT, validity on the invoice. For your records you know exactly what was sold and when it can be used.
What if a dog doesn't come along — does the client get money back?
That depends on your terms. Some walkers charge if cancellation is within 24 hours, others are more lenient. Agree upfront and put it in your quote. For a refund, create a credit note (negative amount) — keeps your books tidy.
