Questions cleaners often ask

Weekly cleaning: one invoice per month or per visit?

Per month is more practical for most clients — fewer transfers, easier admin. Set up a recurring invoice for the first or last day of the month with four (or five) visits on it. For holidays or extra visits, adjust that month.

Client doesn't give access in time — can I bill for that?

Agree on this upfront in your terms. A common arrangement: when you can't work without 24-hour notice, you charge 50 or 100% of the planned time. On the invoice, list it as a separate line: "Cancelled appointment [date]" with the agreed amount.

Materials: included in the rate or invoiced separately?

For standard cleaning (residential, office), materials are usually included in the hourly rate. For specialist work or large one-off jobs, list them separately on the invoice — own line, own VAT rate. That way your client sees exactly where their money goes.
