B2B: an invoice is required
When you sell to another business, you're generally required to send a proper invoice with your details, the client's details, an invoice number, date, description, and VAT breakdown. FactuurSturen.app fills in all of that automatically.
B2C: only if asked
For private customers a formal invoice is usually only needed on request. A clear receipt is fine in most cases. For services it's still useful — your client may need it as proof of payment.
Keep invoices for seven years
In the Netherlands you're required to keep your administration for seven years. Other countries have similar rules. FactuurSturen.app stores all your sent invoices safely as PDFs, so you don't have to archive them yourself.
Sequential, unbroken numbering
Invoice numbers must form a logical, unbroken sequence — no gaps, no duplicates. FactuurSturen.app keeps the count automatically, including across year-end resets if that's your preference.

Can I use FactuurSturen alongside my accountant?
Yes. FactuurSturen focuses on creating and sending invoices. Your accountant handles the bookkeeping separately. You can export invoice data if needed.
What if I only send a few invoices per month?

Can I send invoices in English?
Yes. FactuurSturen supports both Dutch and English. You can send invoices to international clients without any issues.
What if I make a mistake on an invoice?
Don't edit a sent invoice — that's usually not allowed. Instead, send a credit note (an invoice with a negative amount that cancels the original), then send a new corrected invoice. FactuurSturen.app creates credit notes with one click and links them to the original invoice automatically.
Do I need to put my company registration number on every invoice?
In the Netherlands, yes — both your KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number and your VAT identification number are required on invoices to other businesses. Other countries have similar requirements (UTR, ABN, etc.). You enter them once in your settings; they appear on every invoice automatically.
How do I invoice a client in another country?
Within the EU, B2B invoices often use the 0% rate with a "VAT reverse charged" note. Outside the EU it's usually 0% without reverse charge. The exact rules depend on what you sell and to whom. FactuurSturen.app supports the right rates and notations — check with your accountant which apply to your situation.
